Arteta reveals secrets to success in Box to BoxArsenal boss contrasts life as coach and playerSpaniard opens up on his aims and dreamsWHAT HAPPENED?

The Arsenal manager conducted a wide-ranging Box to Box interview with GOAL and FedEx, covering topics such as his players eventually becoming managers, almost playing for England, his views on the Premier League compared to La Liga, meeting Pep Guardiola, and more. The 42-year-old also spoke about the tough demands a manager faces and his future aspirations.

On his ambitions, Arteta said: "Just work daily, with your values, with your ideas, and follow your gut feeling. Be consistent, be disciplined, and then recruit top talent, because without players there is no success as a manager."

MANAGER VS PLAYER

When asked what the hardest thing a manager has to deal with compared to a player, he said: "When you come through that door, everyone's expecting you to do something about it. They're all looking at you and you have to have the right answers. And I always said there's nothing like being a player, but I'm not so sure about that now. When you have a vision, an idea or a plan to do something, and actually that happens and you're able to connect that many people, that's so powerful. And as a manager that's something that's a unique feeling and you don't get it as a player."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

After being appointed as Arsenal's head coach in late 2019, Arteta led the Gunners to FA Cup glory in 2020, before getting through a tricky spell when many called for him to be sacked. But, over time, he has turned the Gunners into a top side that is competing for the biggest trophies and much of that is down to his man management, as well as the club getting their recruitment right. The next step for the Spaniard is to win the Premier League or Champions League – something the north Londoners are in with a shout of this term.
